Since 1988 the Florida Youth Orchestra has been providing the highest quality classical music education for young talented musicians ages 6-19. Over 360 members strong, the Orchestra continues to be recognized as Florida's premier youth orchestra.
Under the direction and guidance of its Music Director
Thomas Sleeper, the orchestras and ensembles perform for
thousands of concertgoers each year in addition to regular
appearances on local and national television and radio broadcasts.
The Florida Youth Orchestra has attracted ongoing interest, support and participation from community leaders, especially those in the arts, education and business communities.
Countless alumni of the Florida Youth Orchestra have been accepted into the nation's most prestigious colleges and conservatories, consistently receiving the most coveted awards, honors, and scholarships.
In addition to preparing many members for careers in music, an important goal of the Florida Youth Orchestra is to develop appreciative audiences for the future.
Your interest and support is an investment in the nurturing of Florida's best and brightest young talent.
The Florida Youth Orchestra is the Youth Orchestra in Residence at Nova Southeastern University.
