Since 1988, over 20,000 children have been educated and inspired by their participation in the Florida Youth Orchestra. As the area's only regional children's arts organization, FYO is highly regarded for its commitment to the finest quality classical music education, widespread community engagement, and sensitivity to the musical, social and emotional needs of children.
With a firm commitment to the needs of all segments of the South Florida community, the Florida Youth Orchestra has established a concert series that focuses on elder adults and their families. Free classical music concerts are presented at venues such as senior centers, assisted living facilities and condominiums. Seniors are encouraged to invite family members to this unique, multi-generational experience, joining the young, elderly and the in-between. A post-concert reception affords lively social time, as audience members mingle with FYO's musicians and staff.
