Painted Violin: Cubism in Music by Dan Weihnacht (K)

Dan Weihnacht

Violin: Cubism in Music (K)

Dan Weihnacht was born in Jacksonville. He received his BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and his Master’s Degree in Art Education at University of New Mexico. Currently, an art teacher in the public school system, Dan continues to create his own artwork, and is represented by Dorsch Gallery in Miami. Glancing at his violin, you may get the sense that some shapes and bars are falling back in space, while others are advancing towards you ... 'looking into" the violin as well as at its surface. Dan found the same association with music. There may be many layers in the "soundscape," with themes and melodies appearing and receding.
